I was lost on French grammar before reading this book and sadly I still remain there. It uses to much of the foreign language to explain the foreign language to be of great use to a person whom does not know that language to begin This is the first dummies book which I both began and ended still feeling the same about my knowledge of the subject it addressed. That is not to say it is of no use to a person just starting to learn French but it is too much to take in and use in one read, I think.
